Experiential workshop is a form presence education where the participants meet an expert lector. The lector guides the participants through a prepared program using various techniques (feedback, role-playing, model situations etc.). Workshop is always focused on a specific topic and emphasizes personal experience of the participants.
It should be noted that workshops are not suitable for complete beginners in the discussed field. It is meant to further deepen the knowledge and it expects the participants to have some theoretical background in the field.
Experiential workshop emphasizes the experience of the participants and the “learning-by-doing” principle. Skills that a person had the opportunity to use are then easier to apply in real-life situations. That’s why there are various games, where people can for example practice giving feedback, are a part of the workshop. In a workshop focused on “sales skills” the participants may try to sell some fictional article, and in a workshop focused on “communication” the participants are asked to convey some information to others but without the use of certain words.
