Leadership summarizes everything related to "leading people" in one word. But how to lead effectively? To bring out the best in people, to keep them motivated? That is no small task, but there are some general rules which every good leader should follow.
Every leader should lead by example. How could she possibly want her people to do everything they can for the company's prosperity if she herself doesn't? Hardly, if at all.
Be a leader who people will follow voluntarily. Here it would be good to mention the difference between a “boss” and a “leader”. A boss orders her subordinates on what to do. She is appointed and doesn’t care too much about what others think of her. As long as they get the job done. A leader, on the other hand, has to earn the respect of her followers. By being the way she is, by doing things the way she does and by sharing and communicating her vision. Indeed, there are many crucial differences between a boss and a leader and one might say that being a good leader is much more difficult.
